Shaped brick
Refractory body that holds inclusions on the glass surface
Facet elements (bevels)
curly volumetric glass elements used in the manufacture of stained glass
Filigree glass (filigree)
Colorless transparent glass decorated with glass threads inserted into the molten glass at the manufacturing stage. Usually, the threads are twisted (woven) together in an infinitely diverse and unique way. The most commonly used threads are milky white.
Float glass
This is the term for a completely flat, clear glass (base product).
Flux
Charge component used to speed cooking
Forkamer feeder
A narrow, closed channel, forming an expansion in the working part of the furnace, for transporting glass to the feeder channel or to the rotating pot
Molding
Giving hot or warm glass the shape of the product
Glass forming
the process of converting molten glass into a solid product of a given shape and predetermined size.
Mold tooling
a set of elements and parts of a glass-forming machine that are in direct contact with glass and intended for molding glass products. The mold kit, depending on the molding method, includes:
draft form - designed for molding bullets (blanks) of future glassware;
finishing form - intended for the final molding of the product;
throat ring - designed to form the throat;
final form pallet - designed to design the bottom of the product;
plunger - designed for tapping the bullet for further inflating it through this tapping (for the press and press-blow molding method);
funnel - designed to direct a drop of glass into a draft form;
bottom shutter - designed to close the draft form during the formation of bullets in it;
plunger ring - designed to close the draft cavity between the plunger and the throat ring during the pressing of the bullet (for the press and press-blow molding method) and the direction of the plunger during its movement.
Photovoltaic glass
This is a special glass with built-in solar cells to convert solar energy into electricity.
Photochromic glass
Glass that changes color or darkens under intense, such as sunlight, and restores its transparency when light intensity decreases
Frit
Calcined, vitrified or partially molten materials from which glass is obtained
Front wall
Part of the side wall between the locks or bars of the pool and the vault
Fourco process (vertical glass pulling method)
A method of manufacturing flat glass by vertically pulling up from a bath of a glass melting furnace through a slit of a ceramic boat floating on the surface of the melt
Fusing
(from English fusing - heating, melting, melting, reflowing, sintering) - a term that has taken root in the Russian language to refer to a number of technologies for processing warm glass. In English-language specialized literature, this term refers only to glass sintering technology.
