Crystal Museum in Dyatkovo
The town of Dyatkovo emerged in the second half of the 18th century. Its foundation and further development are closely related to the development of crystal production. In 1790, the Maltsovs entrepreneurs built a crystal factory on the banks of the remote forest river Dyatkovka (from which the name of the village originated). The enterprise produced mainly highly artistic crystal with masterly thin ("Maltsov") diamond facet and products with bloom. Maltsov glass and crystal factories were the largest not only in Russia, but also surpassed factories in a number of European countries. At all-Russian exhibitions in 1829 and in Moscow in 1835, the products of the Dyatkovo Crystal Factory were recognized as the best and received gold medals. At the beginning of the 20th century, one French breeder spoke about Dyatkovo residents like this: “There is nothing to teach here, you have to learn here. I cannot understand how such excellent products can be produced here. "
The Crystal Museum is located on the central street of the city - named after Lenin, directly opposite the entrance to the crystal factory. The building is very spacious, the exposition is rich and interesting. The entrance to one of the halls is decorated with chasing. There is an emblem on it showing the types of raw materials for glass products - quartz sand and metal oxides.
