Dear colleagues!
Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "
We inform you that the 9th issue of the monthly scientific and technical journal Glass and Ceramics for 2024 has been published.
Contents of the September issue:
- MICROSTRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF GLASS-SOLDER COMPOSITE DEPENDING ON THE SPECIFIC SURFACE AREA OF THE FILLER - LEAD TITANATE
The effect of the specific surface area and filler concentration on the temperature coefficient of linear expansion (TCLE) of sintered composites based on high-lead low-melting glass and lead titanate was studied in order to obtain solder materials with abnormally low TCLE values. In composites containing up to 55% of PbTiO3 powder with a specific surface area of less than 560 cm2/g, near-zero TCLE values were achieved. The microstructure of solder composites was studied using optical microscopy in combination with birefringence testing with a locality of about 1 μm.
- SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURE AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF LEAD-GALLATE GLASSES
The glass-forming system PbO–Ga2O3 with a lead oxide content of more than 50 mol. % was studied. It was found that the introduction of lead oxide significantly affects the glass structure. Vibrational spectroscopy methods showed that PbO significantly reduces the number of Ga–O–Ga bridging bonds, which leads to weakening of the glass network and dominance of PbO4 pyramids in it. Structural changes lead to a significant change in the physicochemical properties of glasses. The spectral and optical properties of the glass-forming system PbO–Ga2O3 are considered in detail. The glasses have a wide transparency window (from 0.5 to 7.5 μm), a high refractive index (?2.2) and a small Abbe number (about 12). The developed materials are promising for use in optics and photonics for infrared spectral range devices.
