The Glass and Ceramics magazine for May 2025 has been published

Victor Osipov, President of the Association ""StekloSouz" of Russia, is a member of the editorial board of the Glass and Ceramics magazine.

We inform you that the 5th issue of the monthly scientific and technical magazine Glass and Ceramics for 2025 has been published.

- FAST LASER RECORDING OF PHASE PLATES IN POROUS GLASS

Fast recording of birefringent phase plates in the volume of nanoporous glass (NPG) using femtosecond laser pulses is demonstrated, and the possibility of accelerating it by an order of magnitude compared to recording in quartz glass is shown. In situ measurements of the phase shift values (optical difference in the path of rays) of birefringent plates recorded in NPS were performed during heating and cooling in the temperature range of 20…650 °C. It was found that birefringent elements recorded with a femtosecond laser beam are more stable when operating under conditions of strongly changing temperatures than traditional crystalline phase plates. The obtained results are of interest for the creation of an industrial technology for the manufacture of phase optics elements from NPS based on the direct laser recording method.

- INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION "WORLD OF GLASS - 2025"

A brief overview of the 26th International Exhibition "World of Glass" held in Moscow, in which more than 200 companies from 10 countries took direct part, is provided. The exhibition demonstrated new technologies for the production and quality control of glass products, the main elements of glass furnace designs, and methods for their high-quality production. Examples of the most successful enterprises in the glass industry are given.
