Dear Colleagues!
Viktor Osipov President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Glass and Ceramics".
We inform you that the 12th issue of the monthly scientific and technical journal "Glass and Ceramics" for 2022 is out of print.
Contents of the December issue:
- GLASS-LIKE FUNCTIONAL FILLERS OF GLASS-IONOMER CEMENTS IN THE SRO–AL2O3–P2O5–SIO2–F SYSTEM
Based on glasses of the SrO–Al2O3–P2O5–SiO2–F system, functional fillers for glass ionomer cements with a mass content of up to 13% fluorine were obtained. A high level of radiopacity of the filling material was achieved by the joint introduction of oxide and strontium fluoride into the glass filler. The use of fusible fluorine-containing raw materials in quantities that ensure the production of transparent glass made it possible to reduce the glass transition temperature to 1500°C and below, which contributes to the industrial development of the developed compositions. The value of the refractive index of glasses with a high fluorine content nD is at the level of ~ 1.50 and corresponds to the refractive index of the polymer matrix of glass ionomer cement, providing high aesthetic characteristics of the dental material. Samples of transparent filling glass ionomer cement with high compressive strength of more than 100 MPa and a hardening time of 5 minutes were obtained.
- GLASS FILLERS BASED ON THE SrO–Al2O3–B2O3–SIO2 SYSTEM FOR DENTAL FILLING COMPOSITES
Based on glass in the SrO–Al2O3–B2O3–SiO2 system, a glass filler for dental composites was obtained that meets the modern level of requirements for filling materials, and is characterized by high chemical resistance to water, acids and alkalis (Class I), high transparency in the visible range (more than 80%), consistency with the polymer matrix according to TCLE while maintaining an acceptable cooking temperature and no tendency to crystallization. It is shown that the developed glass filler provides a high level of biomedical, operational and functional properties of a dental composite based on it and competitiveness with respect to popular foreign analogue materials.
