The Kuban authorities intend to create the only production of Bohemian glass in Russia

The largest Czech manufacturer of glass products Crystalex intends to invest about 2 billion rubles in the localization of production at the plant in Tikhoretsk in the Kuban, this enterprise may become the only manufacturer of Bohemian glass in Russia. This was reported to journalists on Tuesday by the press service of the Krasnodar Territory Administration.

In 2019, the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratyev, during a trip to the Czech Republic, held negotiations with the owners of Crystalex, which is the most famous Czech glass factory that has been operating on the market for more than 50 years; investors considered the possibility of launching production at the plant in Tikhoretsk.

"The General Director of Crystalex Janusz Tomasz announced that he intends to invest about 2 billion rubles in the creation of a closed production cycle. Following the meeting, the Vice Governor instructed the Industrial Policy Department, together with the Investment and SME Development Department, to draw up a roadmap for the implementation of the project," press release.

It is clarified that production is planned to be localized on the basis of a plant in Tikhoretsk, since now it is the only enterprise in Russia where they decorate Bohemian glass from the Czech Republic, the production capacity is about 300 thousand items per year, products are supplied to all regions of the country. The direction of decorating Czech glass has been operating in the Tikhoretsk region since 2013.
