WasteTech 2024 - International Waste Management Exhibition

From September 10 to 12, 2024, the 25th anniversary exhibition on municipal, industrial, construction, agricultural waste management, recycling and ecology WasteTech was held in Moscow at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center.

The International WasteTech Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the Exhibition) is a significant specialized event dedicated to issues of ensuring environmental safety, involving secondary material resources in economic circulation, eliminating accumulated environmental damage and developing environmental technologies and the closed-loop economy as a whole.

Over 100 companies from Russia, Belarus, China and Turkey took part in the Exhibition, demonstrating advanced technologies and equipment for solving environmental problems.

In 2024, the public-law company for the formation of an integrated system for handling municipal solid waste, the Russian Ecological Operator, will act as the Strategic Partner of the Exhibition, which will make a more significant contribution to solving the current problems of the industry and environmental protection.

The business program of the Exhibition included a set of conferences, seminars and round tables, where approaches to the development of the industry, advanced developments and technologies that contribute to the achievement of key indicators and objectives of the national goal "Environmental Well-being" defined by the President of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2036 were discussed.

Representatives of federal and regional executive and legislative authorities, business associations and the business community took part in the business program.

On behalf of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (SSR), Alexey Savin, Chairman of the Ecology Committee, took part in the business program.

The heads of the specialized services of the SSR systematically put forward proposals to change the provisions of the EPR. Attention is drawn to the difficulties in including glass factories in the lists of recyclers, which contradicts the requirements of the legislation.

As is known, specialists of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia have formulated proposals to the Government of the Russian Federation on the separate collection of broken glass for glass factories. At present, as an experiment, the work has been transferred to several regions. This problem can be solved with the direct participation of the state.
