Two-thirds of the workers at the oldest glass factory in the Vladimir region were laid off.
Velikodvorsky Glass Factory is laying off two thirds of its current employees. According to Vladimirskiye Novosti, in September, 200 plant employees received layoff notices due to the liquidation of their positions.
Dismissals will be carried out strictly according to the law, with the payment of all required compensation. However, the workers are in a desperate situation - the plant is a city-forming enterprise in the village of Velikodvorsky, and there is practically no other work to be found.
The Ministry of Labor of the Vladimir Region confirmed that they had received a notice of staff reduction at the Velikodvorsky Glass Factory. Neither the management of the holding company, which includes the plant, nor the regional government explained what caused the mass layoff.
The plant is the oldest glass enterprise in the region; it was founded in 1817 personally by I. S. Maltsov, the founder of the glass industry in the Vladimir province. In 2014, the plant underwent a complete modernization; it now produces glass bottles for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, sauces and dairy products.
It is obvious that, having lost two-thirds of its employees, the plant will not be able to operate. Apparently, we are talking about the complete liquidation of one of the oldest enterprises in the region.
