The list of backbone enterprises has been expanded in the Tver Region

At a meeting of the government of the Tver region on Tuesday, a decision was made to expand the list of backbone enterprises in the region, the press service of the regional government reports.

Initially, the list of backbone enterprises in the region, which included 220 companies, was approved in the spring of 2020 as part of a package of measures to support the economy in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, which made it possible to ensure the operation of key sectors of the regional economy and save jobs for residents of the Tver region.

Now the list has been expanded to 302 enterprises.

"The list additionally includes more than 80 enterprises. Weekly monitoring of their condition, wages, orders, sales volumes - everything that concerns financial stability today will be organized," Governor of the region Igor Rudenya said, commenting on the decision to journalists.

184 companies (there were 146) were identified as enterprises of regional importance - with a total number of employees of more than 70 thousand people and revenues of more than 400 billion rubles. Municipal importance - 118 enterprises (was 74) of great socio-economic importance for municipalities and employing a total of 7.6 thousand people.

The list includes companies in the field of mechanical engineering and metalworking, light, forestry and woodworking, furniture, medical, food, printing, glass, chemical industries, production of building materials, logistics, agriculture, and tourism. Today they provide about 40% of the regional gross product, the press service noted.
