Construction of the first digital skyscraper in Russia has begun in Moscow City

Another unique facility will appear in the Moscow City business center. MR Group has started construction of two iCity office towers in Shmitovskiy proezd. The complex will be the first building in the country designed according to the principles of fijitalization, the developer says.

The MR Group company has started implementing the project of the iCity office center, the developer said. Business center with a total area of 249 thousand sq. m will be built at 37 Shmitovskiy proezd.

Designed by the German architect Helmut Jan, the complex consists of two towers: the 61-story Time Tower (257 meters) and the 34-story Space Tower (141 meters). Skyscrapers are located on a common seven-story stylobate, which will house infrastructure facilities.

iCity will be the first building in Russia designed on the basis of the principles of fijitalization, involving the integration of physics and digital, the developer says. In particular, biometric access will be organized in the business center, robots will serve visitors at the reception, access to all services will be available through a mobile application, office space will be optimized based on heat maps, and all engineering systems of the building will be made anti-virus.

The project will focus on energy efficiency. Building lighting solutions will cut energy consumption by up to three times. For example, the complex provides for the possibility of natural ventilation of office premises during the off-season.

The skyscraper is being built according to LEED, BREAM, ASHRAE (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) standards, the message says. The total investment in the project will amount to RUB 20 billion, project financing is provided by VTB Bank. It is planned that the object will be commissioned in 2023.
