Exhibition of Vladimir Kasatkin «Dedication to glass» opened in Gus-Khrustalny

In Gus-Khrustalny opened a personal exhibition of the master of contemporary glass art Vladimir Kasatkin "Dedication to glass".

It is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the creative activity of the chief artist of the Gusevsky Crystal Factory. Vladimir Kasatkin, the son of a diamond master, came to work at the plant immediately after graduation, and in 2013 he became its chief artist. His masterpieces adorn the collections of the largest museums in our country. These are the State Hermitage, the Museum of Artistic Glass of St. Petersburg, the Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts and the All-Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts. There are works by Vladimir Ivanovich in the collection of the Historical Museum, the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve. Here, in the Museum of Crystal. Maltsov, in a single art space presented the best works of the master from 1973 to the present day.

One of the themes of the exhibition is mass production. Over the years of his work, the artist has designed dozens of samples of mass production, filling mass-produced dishes with style and grace. In Soviet times, these vases, glasses, decanters were in almost every home - from Moscow to Sakhalin. Here you can see the famous "Cornflower" service made of blue glass, the "Hunting" service and much, much more. The second direction of the author's creativity is works of arts and crafts. These works attract the eye with a play of color and completely unexpected shapes. Among them are the iconic "Troubadours", "Rosinka", "Bakhchisaray" and many others.

Vladimir Kasatkin, chief artist of the Gusevsky Crystal Factory:

"I am inspired by my Gusev region. We have such an amazing nature, we have such architecture. This is the environment that I feed on. Many of my products speak of this. Naturally, I sing about it."

The exhibition is interesting in that it contains the artist's works not only from the Crystal Museum, but also from the collection of the Gusevsky factory, as well as the private collection of Kasatkin himself. For example, here for the first time the author's graphics are presented to the audience - sketches. You can see such diverse creations of Vladimir Kasatkin and immerse yourself in his work for another 6 weeks. Exhibition “Vladimir Kasatkin. Dedication to glass” will last until November 20.
