Sibsteklo increased profit from sales of glass containers by 71 percent

We publish the results of 2021 of the Member of the Association StekloSouz of Russia - Sibsteklo LLC.

Siberian Glass LLC (Sibsteklo) is the largest manufacturer of glass containers beyond the Urals.

According to the General Director of Sibstekla Anton Mor, the output in the reporting period compared to 2020 increased by 9% - from 189.4 thousand to 206.2 thousand tons, and in pieces by 11% - from 643, 3 million to 711.5 million

In particular, 530 million bottles left the conveyors, which are made using lightening methods while maintaining strength characteristics. During the year, the share of "lightweight" in the total output increased from 64 to 75%, which became possible due to the commissioning of another narrow-neck extrusion line. As a result, the average weight of a glass product decreased by 2% - from 294 to 290 g, thus the plant keeps down selling prices, optimizing the consumption of material resources.

Financial results also demonstrate positive dynamics. Revenue from the sale of glass containers in 2021 amounted to 5 billion rubles, which is 20% more than in 2020. Sales profit increased by 71%, reaching 1.5 billion rubles. EBITDA was at the level of 1.3 billion rubles, while in 2020 it was 1.13 billion.

Recall that last year Sibsteklo completed a large-scale investment project worth more than 1.5 billion rubles: it launched a new glass melting furnace, one of the largest in Russia, thanks to which the enterprise’s productivity increased by 30%, to 850 million units of glass containers per year. The furnace was brought to its planned capacity of 375 tons of glass melt per day in July.

– Its design advantages allowed us to produce a bottle of green glass – since it conducts infrared radiation worse than brown or colorless glass, it is more difficult to weld it, – comments Anton Mor. “We were the first to do this in Siberia. Some food industry companies from the Novosibirsk region use green containers as branded packaging and, by expanding their range, Sibsteklo will support the volume of bottling drinks in the region.
