Rostec resumes production of Galilean theater binoculars

The Lytkarino optical glass plant resumed production of the so-called Galilean theater binoculars BGN.

The Russian holding "Shvabe" (part of the state corporation "Rostec") has started producing classic theater binoculars, which work according to the scheme of the scientist Galileo Galilei. The first batch of 50 pieces has already been released. According to the press service of the state corporation "Rostec".

“Classic binoculars BGN are familiar to everyone who has visited theaters at least once in his life. They have not been produced for the last 20 years. Now we have decided to revive the tradition and resume the production of binoculars. At the same time, their quality and durability will become even higher, while the optical characteristics and appearance will remain unchanged, ”

noted the executive director of "Rostec" Oleg Yevtushenko.

Representatives of the Russian military-industrial complex said that the Lytkarino optical glass plant, which is part of the Shvabe holding, has resumed the production of the so-called Galilean theater binoculars BGN. The enterprise produced them from the 1950s to the 1990s. It is noted that such binoculars increase the comfort of spectators when attending concerts, performances, competitions and other cultural and sports events.
