Obninsk Research and Production Enterprise "Technology" named after. A.G. Romashina of the Rostec State Corporation imported Western-made side glazing for the driver's cabin of the Lastochka high-speed passenger electric train. Products made from domestic materials are impact-resistant and resistant to dynamic loads. The glass will ensure the safety of the locomotive crew and the ability to operate the train in adverse weather conditions.
Side glazing should not distort the perception of objects by the crew of the electric train. Moreover, even in difficult weather conditions, side objects and signals should be clearly visible. Products must also be resistant to shock and vibration.
“The basis of the side glazing produced by ONPP Tekhnologiya is a sealed double-glazed window that does not warm up under the influence of the sun in the warm season and does not let in the cold in winter. The outer part of the product is durable silicate triplex, which can withstand a collision with a flying object at speeds of up to 100 km/h. The domestic solution meets all the requirements for the side glazing of the driver’s cabin of the Lastochka electric train. Our specialists completed the task of import substitution in the shortest possible time. We are ready for serial production of products,” said the general director of the enterprise, Andrey Silkin.
ONPP "Technology" provides more than 70% of the needs of the Russian railway glazing market, producing over 400 types of products for equipping locomotive cabins. To ensure uninterrupted supply to enterprises in the railway industry, the enterprise quickly replaced imported materials that were used in the manufacture of heated glazing for rolling stock with products of its own production.
