The first ten days of August 2022 ended with an extended meeting of the leaders of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia (hereinafter SSR) with the heads of glass factories.

The scheduled meeting was chaired by Viktor Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia.

The main issue on import substitution and the development of alternative production in the Russian Federation was addressed by Pavlushkin Mikhail Nikolaevich, Vice-President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, head of the Scientific and Technical Center of the SSR (STC SSR, head Korshunova Lyudmila Fedorovna).

The reports and proposals on import substitution were made by: Gorshkov Pavel Alexandrovich, Director of the Department of Glass Containers of the SSR, Gorin Andrey Evgenievich, Director of the Department of Flat Glass and Industrial Processing of the SSR.

At the meeting, the issues of import supplies for glass factories of soda ash were considered. Negotiations are underway with a number of countries, including Iran.

We discussed environmental issues. In particular, the implementation of Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 830. Control over the implementation of this document at glass factories is entrusted to Talakuev Nikolai Pavlovich, Director of the Department of Technical Regulation and Quality Control of the SSR.

Decisions have been made. Including:

- to continue active work on import substitution in the Russian market;

- On August 25, 2022, the Association StekloSouz of Russia to hold a scheduled meeting of the Expert Council (EC) of the STC SSR on this topic.

Currently, a package of proposals from glass factories is being formed for approval and implementation.
