Putin orders identification of unscrupulous waste operators

Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Alexander Kozlov, to identify negligent regional operators for handling solid household waste. On August 7, the Russian leader held a meeting with members of the Cabinet. He pointed out the shortcomings in the work of such operators.

The head of state ordered inspections to be carried out and unscrupulous operators to be identified.

“Think about how to organize this work on inspections, on identifying the shortcomings that are revealed in the course of this work,” Putin told Kozlov.

He also recalled the existence of the federal project “Clean Country.”

“I have the impression that somewhere in our country the pace of this work is slowing down,” TASS quotes the Russian leader as saying.

As previously reported by Parlamentskaya Gazeta, Putin instructed the Cabinet to think about mechanisms for creating waste processing capacities at the expense of additional revenues for local budgets, for example, at the expense of funds received from tourist taxes.
