Glass production enterprise to be opened near Smolensk

It is planned to open a tempered glass production company in the Yartsevo district of the Smolensk region. The cooperation agreement was signed by the governor Alexey Ostrovsky and the general director of Vitrosfera (a subsidiary of the Polish company Axaglass) Andrei Shapiro at the site of the Smolensk regional socio-economic forum “Territory of development” named after I.Ye. Klimenko.

“As part of the implementation of the investment project, it is expected that by 2021 an enterprise for the production of tempered glass with a thickness of 2.5 mm or more will appear in the Yartsevo district,” the press service of the Smolensk region administration said.

It is assumed that the range of products will include tempered glass for solar panels, household appliances, interior and exterior glass. Production is expected to reach up to 3 million square meters of glass per year.

According to the press service, the company plans to sell products on the Russian and foreign markets, in particular in Poland, Germany, Belgium, Holland, France, Spain, England, Kazakhstan and the countries of Scandinavia.

It is worth noting that the volume of investments will be 60 million rubles, it is also planned to create 25 new jobs.
