Novocherkassk will become a pilot in reviving the acceptance of glass containers among the population

In the Rostov region, plans were announced to revive glass container collection points.

As the Molot newspaper reports, the processing of used glass will be carried out on the basis of the Novocherkassk Industrial Park.

Currently, a complex for processing construction and industrial waste is being built here. It is planned to be launched in the spring of 2024 and at the first stage they will begin processing reinforced concrete, sand-crushed stone mixtures of various types and glass.

"In Soviet times, glass collecting was very popular. Residents brought empty bottles to stationary points, or at a certain time a car arrived at a designated place and took various glass containers from the population. We will launch glass collection points as a pilot project first in Novocherkassk and see the results, and then we will open them in Rostov-on-Don and Aksai,” said Elena Peletskaya, development director of the complex.

She also added that not all bottles will be accepted for delivery, but only white or green.
