Novgorod region approved the project of a special economic zone

The project of creating a special economic zone of industrial and production type (SEZ PPT) "Novgorodskaya" was approved by a working group chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Trutnev. The special economic zone will be the first in the Novgorod region.

The Governor of the Novgorod Region, Andrey Nikitin, announced the approval of the SEZ project today, July 2, to his subscribers in social networks. According to him, seven companies plan to implement their projects on the territory of the SEZ: residents will be accommodated in fully equipped sites and will receive a number of benefits, including a 10-year exemption from property tax and transport tax. According to Nikitin, a free customs zone will operate on the territory of the SEZ.

The new SEZ will be located on industrial sites within the borders of the Novgorod region in close proximity to Veliky Novgorod and the federal highway M-10. Its total area will be 184.5 hectares. This territory partially has the necessary engineering infrastructure facilities that can be used by potential residents in order to implement investment projects. "Taking into account the forecast needs of anchor and prospective SEZ residents, it is planned to develop infrastructure at the expense of the regional budget of the Novgorod region," Yuri Trutnev said at the meeting on the SEZ, the press service of the Russian government reports.

Regional authorities expect that by 2030 the volume of investments in the SEZ will amount to 8.1 billion rubles, and 733 jobs will be created.

According to Yuri Trutnev, there are now 38 SEZs in the Russian Federation, 92 ASEZs in single-industry towns and closed cities, 22 ASEZs in the Far East and one ASEZ in the Arctic. In addition, in July 2020, the entire territory of the Russian Arctic became a special economic zone. The Ministry of Economic Development is actively working on seven applications for the creation of new economic zones - in the Smolensk, Orenburg, Ivanovo, Kemerovo, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk regions and Moscow.

As previously reported by "DP", it is planned to build enterprises for the production of microelectronics, pharmaceutical production, enterprises for the production of trailers and semi-trailers, heat and sound insulation materials in the Novgorod SEZ. The anchor residents of the SEZ PPT Novgorodskaya announced three projects: ZAO STC Modul with a plant for the production of microelectronic products; OOO Mezhregioninvest with a plant for the production of sheet glass and an enrichment plant for the enrichment of quartz sand, as well as the company VN-PHARM with an enterprise for the production of medicines.
