Two new plants to be launched in Grozny SEZ

Two production facilities — polymer pipes and tempered glass — are planned to be launched in the Grozny special economic zone of industrial and production type in Chechnya by the end of this year.

“This year we expect the launch of two enterprises. One of them is the Trubplast company, which will produce polymer pipes, fittings and other products. We also expect the opening of the Steklostroy LLC plant — this is a tempered glass production facility, which is necessary for our republic with our high construction rates,” Ali Magomadov, director of the investment activity and cluster policy department of the Chechen Ministry of Economic Development, told TASS.

He specified that the launch of the enterprises will create more than 90 new jobs.

“We want to create our own chain of finished products, which will allow us to create as many jobs as possible, increase our regional gross product, and at the same time, the tax potential. This year we also plan to begin creating energy infrastructure. This is already the second stage of the SEZ development,” the official noted.

On April 17, a full-cycle production complex for recycling old pipes and manufacturing fittings was opened on the territory of the SEZ. The enterprise will produce 20 thousand tons of products per year. The investor in the project was the company "Trubny Potok Pererabotka".

A total of ten residents are currently implementing investment projects in various sectors of the economy on the territory of the SEZ.

The special economic zone of the industrial and production type "Grozny" was created in December 2019, it occupies an area of 256 hectares in the Sheikh-Mansurovsky district of the Chechen capital. Tax and customs benefits are provided for SEZ residents. It is planned that the SEZ "Grozny" will become one of the main growth points of the economy and industrial potential of Chechnya.
