Modern Glass launched the first production of extra-large curved glass units in Russia

Modern Glass launched the production of architectural extra-large curved glass units up to 12 meters, which has no analogues in Russia and the EAEU countries. The Chelyabinsk enterprise plans to produce up to 12 thousand square meters of large-format curved products annually.

Total investments in the creation of production exceeded 2 billion rubles, of which 1.4 billion rubles were provided in the form of a preferential loan by the Federal Industrial Development Fund (IDF).

Using the loan funds, the enterprise purchased a modern production line with a double-sided tempering furnace. The equipment allows for the production of bent (from the Latin mollio - soften, melt) glass products up to 12 meters long, including L- and S-shaped, as well as bent interior partitions, balcony and stair railings.

Due to their visual uniqueness, curved glass units are used in architectural projects for skyscrapers, business and shopping centers, hotels and airports. The first batches of products were sent to facilities in Moscow - the Bryusov club house, the Twist and Dubininsky business centers, as well as to a wine factory in Gelendzhik.

“In the next three years, we expect to become one of the world’s top five manufacturers of large-format glass products for construction purposes of complex shapes. Financing from the federal Industrial Development Fund allowed Modern Glass not only to modernize its production facilities, but also to bring innovative solutions to the market that can compete with the best world models. Now we can satisfy the most complex requests of architects for curved glass units up to 12 meters long. Today, such products are not manufactured in Russia, and in Europe there are only two factories manufacturing glass units of this size,” commented Anton Voitsekovich, Managing Director of Modern Glass LLC.

Oversized sheet glass for the production of bent glass units is supplied to the enterprise by other FRP borrowers – Larta Glass from the Rostov Region and Salavatsteklo from Bashkortostan. The localization of products is almost 100%.

The company intends to occupy more than half of the market for oversized bent products in Russia, replacing the departed suppliers from Germany, Spain and Italy. In addition, the company plans to export such glass products to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan.

Earlier, the Modern Glass company, using another FRP loan in the amount of 500 million rubles, modernized the production of architectural and window glass units made of laminated and tempered glass up to 6 meters long. Thanks to the second loan from the Industrial Development Fund in the amount of 1.58 billion rubles, the production of architectural super-large glass units up to 12 meters long, which has no analogues in Russia, has been launched.
