Kaluga plant installed a container for glass containers in Obninsk

The ICM GLASS enterprise will give a second life to bottles and cans, the regional government reported.

The first targeted collection of glass containers has opened at 6 Koroleva Street in Obninsk. It is organized directly by the processor. It is the largest producer of foam glass rubble in Europe. It is also the first in the country that specializes in its production.

The enterprise will produce rubble from the collected items. In the future, the material is planned to be used for landscaping and construction. It is durable, heat-insulating and fire hazardous.

“You can put any glass jars and bottles of any color in the container, as well as glassware. Mirrors, window panes and ceramics are not accepted. Glass containers must be handed in without lids and without bags,” the regional government shared.
