III decade, July 2023. Market analysis of railway shipments of glass

Glass shipments by rail transport show a positive trend: in the third decade of July 2023, glass shipments by rail transport to the Russian market (domestic deliveries + imports) increased by 44.0% compared to the corresponding period last year. In the second decade of July 2023 - plus 46.8%. In general, in July 2023, the shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) amounted to 4.2 million square meters. m, which is 36.5% more than in July 2022.

For the period from the beginning of the year to July 31, 2023, the shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market amounted to 23.6 million square meters. m, which is 5.8% more than in the same period in 2022 (plus 3.8% a decade earlier).

Glass deliveries by railway transport for the period from January 01 to July 31, 2023 decreased in three districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - the dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to June 30, 2023):

• FEFD -29.7% (previously -37.6%);

• Volga Federal District -25.6% (previously -32.7%);

• Southern Federal District -7.7% (previously -7.0%).

Positive dynamics of glass shipments by rail for the period from January 01 to July 31, 2023 was observed in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets - the dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to June 30, 2023):

• NWFD +99.1% (previously +85.3%);

• North Caucasus Federal District +36.1% (previously +35.1%);

• Siberian Federal District +24.3% (previously +20.5%);

• Ural Federal District +11.2% (previously +16.1%);

• CFD +4.0% (previously +1.1%).

For comparison: the dynamics of railway shipment of glass in the first half of 2023 was plus 1.0%, and the dynamics of the entire glass market was minus 13.0%. The share of railroad deliveries of glass to the Russian market in the total volume of glass consumption in the first half of 2023 amounted to about 23%.
