In the shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + import) in the third ten-day period of August 2024, the positive dynamics continued compared to the same period last year - plus 24.5%. The shipment volume amounted to 1.4 million sq. m.
Consumption of rail glass by transport in the third ten-day period of August 2024 increased in five federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail supplies in the Central Federal District +263.6%. A decrease in supplies occurred in three federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest - in the North Caucasus Federal District -41.8%.
Volume of consumption of rail glass in the third ten-day period of August 2024 by federal district of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage compared to the same period last year):
• Central Federal District - 206 thousand sq. m (+263.6%);
• Northwestern Federal District - 86 thousand sq. m (+82.6%);
• Southern Federal District – 225 thousand sq. m (+51.2%);
• Far Eastern Federal District – 167 thousand sq. m (+15.0%);
• Siberian Federal District – 614 thousand sq. m (+8.3%);
• Volga Federal District – 61 thousand sq. m (-11.7%);
• Ural Federal District – 34 thousand sq. m (-19.2%);
• North Caucasian Federal District – 48 thousand sq. m (-41.8%).
In total, in August 2024, the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market amounted to 3.5 million sq. m, which is 8.5% less than in the same period of 2023.
Consumption of rail glass in August 2024 increased in five federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail deliveries to the Central Federal District was +100.7%. The decrease in supplies occurred in three federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest one was in the North Caucasus Federal District - 62.2%.
The volume of consumption of railway glass in August 2024 by federal district of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):
• Central Federal District - 453 thousand sq. m (+100.7%);
• Volga Federal District - 641 thousand sq. m (+79.5%);
• Southern Federal District - 286 thousand sq. m (+14.3%);
• Far Eastern Federal District - 448 thousand sq. m (+6.8%);
• Northwestern Federal District - 172 thousand sq. m (+2.2%);
• Ural Federal District - 179 thousand sq. m (-21.9%);
• Siberian Federal District - 1,289 thousand sq. m (-36.3%);
• North Caucasian Federal District - 75 thousand sq. m (-62.2%).
For the period from the beginning of the year to August 31, 2024, the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market amounted to 27.5 million sq. m, which is 0.1% more than for the same period in 2023.
Consumption of rail glass from January 1, 2024 to August 31, 2024 increased in three federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail deliveries in the Volga Federal District +43.9%. A decrease in deliveries occurred in five federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest - in the Central Federal District -23.3%.
Volume of consumption of rail glass from January 1 to August 31, 2024 by Federal District of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):
• Volga Federal District - 4,873 thousand sq. m (+43.9%);
• Far Eastern Federal District - 2,639 thousand sq. m (+20.7%);
• Ural Federal District – 2,058 thousand sq. m (+6.7%);
• Northwestern Federal District – 1,324 thousand sq. m (-0.9%);
• Siberian Federal District – 11,596 thousand sq. m (-6.8%);
• North Caucasian Federal District – 1,332 thousand sq. m (-14.3%);
• Southern Federal District – 1,565 thousand sq. m (-16.4%);
• Central Federal District – 2,151 thousand sq. m (-23.3%).
The share of rail glass supplies to the Russian market in the total consumption volume for 6 months of 2024 amounted to ~21%.
