II decade, June 2024. Dynamics of the market for railway glass shipments

According to preliminary estimates, in the second decade of June 2024, glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) showed negative dynamics. The decrease compared to the same period last year was minus 15.5%.

For the period from the beginning of the year to June 20, 2024, the volume of glass shipments by rail to the Russian market reached 19.2 million square meters. m, which is 7.2% higher than for the same period in 2023.

A decrease in the supply of glass by rail for the period from January 1 to June 20, 2024 was recorded in two districts of the Russian Federation (in brackets are the dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to May 31, 2024):

• Central Federal District -31.6% (previously -29.1%);

• Southern Federal District -19.6% (previously -16.3%).

Consumption of glass delivered by rail for the period from January 1 to June 20, 2024 increased in the following districts of the Russian Federation (in parentheses - dynamics for the period from the beginning of the year to May 31, 2024):

• Volga Federal District +41.0% (previously +46.9%);

• Far Eastern Federal District +34.7% (previously +62.2%);

• Northwestern Federal District +21.9% (previously +21.4%);

• Ural Federal District +14.0% (previously +15.9%);

• North Caucasian Federal District +5.9% (previously +7.0%);

• Siberian Federal District +4.7% (previously +4.0%).

The share of railway glass supplies to the Russian market in total consumption for 4 months of 2024 was ~20%.
