II ten-day period, August 2024. Dynamics of the market for rail shipments of glass

According to preliminary estimates, in the shipment of glass by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + import) in the second ten-day period of August 2024, the negative dynamics changed to positive compared to the same period last year - plus 6.1%. The shipment volume amounted to 1.3 million sq. m.

Consumption of rail glass by transport in the second ten-day period of August 2024 increased in three federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail supplies in the Central Federal District +299.1%. A decrease in supplies occurred in five federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest - in the Northwestern Federal District - 68.1%.

Volume of consumption of rail glass in the second ten-day period of August 2024 by Federal District of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage compared to the same period last year):

• Central Federal District - 210 thousand sq. m (+299.1%);

• Volga Federal District - 415 thousand sq. m (+151.6%);

• Far Eastern Federal District – 214 thousand sq. m (+9.2%);

• North Caucasian Federal District – 27 thousand sq. m (-20.4%);

• Ural Federal District – 68 thousand sq. m (-20.4%);

• Siberian Federal District – 289 thousand sq. m (-46.7%);

• Southern Federal District – 27 thousand sq. m (-63.8%);

• Northwestern Federal District – 13 thousand sq. m (-68.1%).

Over the 20 days of August 2024, the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market amounted to 2.1 million sq. m, which is 22.8% less than for the same period in 2023.

Consumption of rail glass over the 20 days of August 2024 increased in three federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail deliveries to the Volga Federal District was +101.2%. The decrease in supplies occurred in five federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest one - in the North Caucasus Federal District - 76.6%.

The volume of consumption of railway glass for 20 days of August 2024 by Federal District of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):

• Volga Federal District - 580 thousand sq. m (+101.2%);

• Central Federal District - 247 thousand sq. m (+45.6%);

• Far Eastern Federal District - 277 thousand sq. m (+1.0%);

• Ural Federal District - 144 thousand sq. m (-23.1%);

• Northwestern Federal District - 86 thousand sq. m (-29.1%);

• Southern Federal District - 61 thousand sq. m (-39.8%);

• Siberian Federal District - 674 thousand sq. m (-53.7%);

• North Caucasian Federal District - 27 thousand sq. m (-76.6%).

For the period from the beginning of the year to August 20, 2024, the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market amounted to 26.1 million sq. m, which is 1.0% less than for the same period in 2023.

Consumption of rail glass from January 1, 2024 to August 20, 2024 increased in three federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail deliveries in the Volga Federal District +45.0%. A decrease in deliveries occurred in five federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest - in the Central Federal District -29.3%.

Volume of consumption of rail glass from January 1 to August 20, 2024 by Federal District of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):

• Volga Federal District - 4,813 thousand sq. m (+45.0%);

• Far Eastern Federal District - 2,468 thousand sq. m (+20.9%);

• Ural Federal District – 2,023 thousand sq. m (+7.2%);

• Northwestern Federal District – 1,238 thousand sq. m (-3.9%);

• Siberian Federal District – 10,981 thousand sq. m (-7.5%);

• North Caucasian Federal District – 1,284 thousand sq. m (-12.7%);

• Southern Federal District – 1,340 thousand sq. m (-22.3%);

• Central Federal District – 1,944 thousand sq. m (-29.3%).

The share of rail glass supplies to the Russian market in the total consumption volume for 6 months of 2024 amounted to ~21%.
