First ten-day period, September 2024. Dynamics of the market for rail glass shipments

According to preliminary estimates, positive dynamics in glass shipments by rail to the Russian market (domestic supplies + imports) in the first ten days of September 2024 compared to the same period last year continued – plus 29.2%. The shipment volume amounted to 1.2 million sq. m.

Consumption of rail glass by rail in the first ten days of September 2024 increased in four federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail supplies in the Southern Federal District was +576.9%. A decrease in supplies occurred in four federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest – in the Far Eastern Federal District -50.2%.

Volume of rail glass consumption in the first ten days of September 2024 by federal district of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):

• Southern Federal District – 136 thousand sq. m (+576.9%);

• North Caucasian Federal District – 35 thousand sq. m (+157.8%);

• Central Federal District – 128 thousand sq. m (+56.4%);

• Siberian Federal District – 599 thousand sq. m (+55.2%);

• Ural Federal District – 75 thousand sq. m (-18.3%);

• Northwestern Federal District – 46 thousand sq. m (-24.8%);

• Volga Federal District – 62 thousand sq. m (-27.4%);

• Far Eastern Federal District – 79 thousand sq. m (-50.2%).

For the period from the beginning of the year to September 10, 2024, the volume of glass shipped by rail to the Russian market amounted to 28.7 million sq. m, which is 1.0% more than for the same period in 2023.

Consumption of rail glass from January 1, 2024 to September 10, 2024 increased in three federal districts of the Russian Federation. The maximum growth in rail deliveries to the Volga Federal District was +42.1%. The decrease in deliveries occurred in five federal districts of the Russian Federation, the largest decrease was in the Central Federal District -21.1%.

The volume of rail glass consumption from January 1 to September 10, 2024 by Federal District of the Russian Federation (dynamics in percentage terms compared to the same period last year):

• Volga Federal District - 4,935 thousand sq. m (+42.1%);

• Far Eastern Federal District - 2,718 thousand sq. m (+15.9%);

• Ural Federal District - 2,132 thousand sq. m (+5.6%);

• Northwestern Federal District - 1,370 thousand sq. m (-1.9%);

• Siberian Federal District - 12,195 thousand sq. m (-4.9%);

• Southern Federal District - 1,701 thousand sq. m (-10.1%);

• North Caucasus Federal District – 1,367 thousand sq. m (-12.8%);

• Central Federal District – 2,279 thousand sq. m (-21.1%).

The share of rail glass supplies to the Russian market in the total consumption volume for 6 months of 2024 amounted to ~21%.
