French cookware maker Arc International closes factories due to gas prices

One of the largest manufacturers of glassware in the EU - the French company Arc International - is forced to suspend the work of enterprises due to a rise in gas prices, according to the New York Times.

The company will have to send 4,500 employees on forced leave. With Europe facing a tough winter, businesses will not be able to resume operations anytime soon.

Arc International President Nicholas Hodler believes the company is facing the most catastrophic situation of its existence, and it was founded in 1825.

According to the New York Times, many businesses in Europe are facing similar problems, having to cut or suspend production due to high gas costs.
