As part of the exhibition of residents of eco-industrial parks at the Russian Environmental Forum - 2024, Siberian Glass LLC (Sibsteklo, one of the leading manufacturers of glass containers in the country, the largest recycler of glass waste in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts, Partner of national projects of Russia, asset of RATM Holding) presented an eco-pallet made of difficult-to-recycle secondary polymers, and a super-light bottle weighing 235 grams, the components of which used 35% of cullet.
The exposition of Sibsteklo was assessed by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev and General Director of PPK "REO" Denis Butsaev.
The Russian Environmental Forum (REF) has been held since 2021. This is the largest industry event, uniting the main players in the field of solid municipal waste management.
The organizers of the REF are the Russian Ecological Operator, the Government of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation. The main topics of the forum in 2024 were the transition to a closed-loop economy, extended producer responsibility, new regulatory mechanisms and digitalization of the industry, investment projects, and green financing.
As a reminder, Sibsteklo, along with Sberbank PJSC, EcoLine Group, Ecomashgroup LLC, and Russian Railways JSC, acted as a partner of the REF.
As a reminder, the key areas of implementing the environmental agenda at Sibsteklo include increasing the share of glass waste in container production, which reduces the burden on the environment, as well as reducing the weight of glass products, due to which the plant produces more products while consuming the same amount of raw materials and energy.
– Responsible companies demonstrate a state approach to solving business problems: they initiate infrastructure projects with a social effect in the territory of their presence, reduce the man-made impact on the environment and their carbon footprint in supply chains, save non-renewable natural resources, develop import-substituting solutions in the interests of entire industries, – comments Eduard Taran, President of RATM Holding. – Rationalization of production allows us to improve technological processes and increase the competitiveness of enterprises if they are ready for the “green” transition, including seeing this as an opportunity to form growth points for the circular economy.
