Japanese greenhouses may appear in the suburbs

On Thursday, members of the Moscow region delegation visited the Sapporo Teishinkai Medical Center, after which they met in Hokkaido prefecture business community in Sapporo. March 1, business meetings with investors and a presentation is planned to be held in Nagoya.

“There was a discussion on the construction of greenhouses, as the Moscow region is comparable to Hokkaido in terms of climate, so the experience of building greenhouses is extremely important. Together with Marubeni companies we are going to develop a project for the construction of greenhouses for growing berries. We expect that this first Japanese-Russian greenhouse will give citizens of Moscow region the opportunity to buy strawberries of their own production in the coming years, ”said Khromov.

He noted that the Moscow region is already among the three leaders in the cultivation of cucumbers, but the berries have not yet reached such indicators.
