After reconstruction, a modern glass container plant was opened in Gomel

The head of state also recommended avoiding plastic packaging. In addition, new production - it is also 280 new jobs, which is very important for residents of the regional center.

134 drops of hot glass per minute. The enormous speed of the machines ensures the production of 200 million items per year. Banks and bottles for Belarus with its developed food industry is a strategic product.

But until today, 50% of glass containers were imported into the country. The new company will reduce imports immediately by 70% or 12 million dollars a year.

Glass as a recyclable and environmentally friendly material confidently returns its position on the shelves. Milk and dairy products, canned vegetables and fruits, soft drinks - much can be packed into glass that Belarusians produce not only for the domestic market, but also actively exported.

Rejection of plastic food packaging is a global trend. And Belarus is no exception.

Valery Chekhovsky, Director of Glassworks:
The best environmentally friendly packaging material is glass packaging. He is categorically lacking in Europe, in Russia and in Belarus. About 300 million bottles a year are produced in Belarus; the need is about 700 million.

Valery Chekhovsky knows what he is talking about. This plant is the 15th in a row that it opens in its life. Gomel glass will be exported not only as a package of Belarusian products, but also as an independent product. From the first days begin shipping to Europe. A batch of 500 thousand bottles will go to Latvia as early as next week.

Vladimir Nachatoy, Director of the parent company of a glass factory:
In Europe, from next year there is a complete ban on plastic packaging. We have opened a large export potential. We already have contracts. Under previously concluded contracts, approximately 35% of all products will be exported, which will give additional foreign exchange earnings.

Products have already been sold almost a year in advance. Investors do not hide their joy and say: if you could double the issue, you would have done it already. From the first day the plant capacity is 100% loaded. For hundreds of Gomel residents, this means stable earnings and the well-being of their families.

The company created 280 new jobs. To recoup 13 million rubles invested in the modernization, investors are planning over the next four years. According to forecasts of business analysts, it is during this period that the global market for glass containers is growing.
