A resident of the Moscow region presented the glass-blowing icons of the Mother of God "Blessed Sky" to the Belogoryevsky Monastery and the new church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the village of Podgorensky. The abbot of the monastery Ilya (Zhdamirov) told the RIA "Voronezh" correspondent about this on Tuesday, August 18.

The donor is a native of Podgorensky, 20 years ago she moved to live in the Moscow region. The woman wished to remain anonymous. Rare icons on gut (handmade) glass were presented to her by the Mother Superior of the Nikolo-Solbinsky Monastery of the Yaroslavl Region - Mother Erotiida. She gave her blessing to donate the expensive faces of the Mother of God to the Podgoren churches.

- Earlier, icons in this style were made for the temples of the south: Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine. The miraculous icon of the Mother of God, called "Blessed Heaven", depicts the Mother of God, holding a baby in her arms, in full growth. Under her feet, the original was depicted a crescent moon, and then a cloud-sky, - the woman told the RIA Voronezh correspondent.

Forging technology is one of the oldest glass technologies. Blown glass was born in Ukraine. These are products made by a master directly at the glass furnace by hand, by free blowing or using molds. The items were decorated and finally finished here - by the oven.
