Vetropack Group, one of Europe's leading glass container manufacturers, said that glass production at the company's plant in Saint-Pré, which is planned to be closed, has resumed following a workers' strike last Friday. However, the warehouse is still on strike. The board has temporarily delayed sending out the first redundancy notices and is confident that it will be able to present a social plan soon after negotiations with employee and trade union representatives resume.
“We continue to negotiate with trade unions and employee representatives,” comments CEO Johann Reiter. “We hope that we can move forward quickly and present a social plan for Saint-Preux employees within a few days.”
Vetropack is currently unable to supply goods from Saint-Pré due to a warehouse strike. If this situation does not change, the company may be forced to stop production in the next few days due to safety reasons. In the meantime, Vetropack is working hard to find solutions to continue supplying customers from other plants and is in close contact with them. The transfer of production capacity to other plants of the company is already in full swing.
