Dear Colleagues!
Viktor Ivanovich Osipov, President of the Association "StekloSouz" of Russia, is a member of the editorial board of the Glass and Ceramics magazine.
We inform you that the 3rd issue of the monthly scientific and technical magazine “Glass and Ceramics” for 2024 has been published.
Contents of the March issue:
- INFLUENCE OF CRYSTALLIZATION ON THE LOCAL STRUCTURE AND OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF GLASS COMPOSITION 12.5LI2O–50GEO2–37.5P2O5
Glass with the composition 12.5Li2O–50GeO2–37.5P2O5 was synthesized using the melt quenching method. By heat treatment, a single-phase sample of the LiGe2(PO4)3 composition with a NASICON structure was obtained, which is promising as a solid electrolyte for all-solid-phase lithium-ion current sources. The local structure and optical properties of glassy and crystallized samples were studied using total X-ray scattering with pair distribution function analysis and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy in the UV-visible range. An assessment of the influence of the effect of glass crystallization on these properties was carried out. It has been shown that structuring in glass is observed only at the level of the first and second coordination spheres of Ge and P atoms. From the data of the optical absorption spectra of the original (amorphous) glass, the presence of F+ centers in it was established, the concentration of which decreases as a result of crystallization of the glass. The estimated value of the glass band gap after crystallization, i.e. for the LiGe2(PO4)3 phase, for the case of direct allowed transitions was 6.15 eV, which exceeds the calculated value known from the literature by approximately 2 times.
- SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES OF COLOPED SM3+/GD3+ GLASSES WITH COMPOSITION B2O3–GEO2–BI2O3
As part of the study, glasses co-doped with Sm3+/Gd3+ in the B2O3–GeO2–Bi2O3 system were synthesized in the composition range 40B2O3–40GeO2–(15…17)Bi2O3–(3…2)Sm2O3–(2…1)Gd2O3 and 42.5B2O3–42 .5GeO2–(11.25…12.75)Bi2O3–(2.25…1.50)Sm2O3–(1.500…0.075)Gd2O3. The luminescent characteristics were assessed in the temperature range from 298 to 673 K. Photoluminescence spectral bands associated with transitions between different Stark sublevels of Sm3+ ions were identified. A redistribution of the intensity ratio of the luminescence bands corresponding to the 4G5/2 ? 6H9/2 at the maximum photoluminescence wavelength ( = 645 nm), 4G5/2 ? 6H7/2 ( = 597 nm). Based on the data obtained, the fluorescence intensity ratio FIR and the relative sensitivity SR were calculated. The results obtained indicate the promise of these glasses as a luminescent thermometric material.
- FEATURES OF PREPARATION OF GLASS BARCH IN THE PRODUCTION OF COLORLESS SHEET GLASS WITH INCREASED TRANSPARENCY
The features of preparing glass batch in the production of colorless sheet glass with increased transparency are considered. A non-standard algorithm for dosing and loading selenium, cobalt oxide, erbium oxide and iron oxide into the mixer is proposed.
- MEASUREMENT OF RESISTANCE OF BORDER AND INTERNAL CHANNELS OF MICROCHANNEL CELLS
A technique has been developed for measuring the resistive characteristics of channels in microchannel plate blanks. Two probes were used in the measurements, which made it possible to minimize leakage currents in adjacent channels. The resistive properties of single channels of the microchannel insert of the restored workpiece of the microchannel plate MKP 18-10 were studied. It has been established that the resistance of the channels depends on their position in the microchannel cell. It has been shown that channels located in close proximity to the monolithic frame have lower resistance compared to those located in the middle of a multicore glass honeycomb.
- INFLUENCE OF WASTE GLASS POWDER ON THE PROPERTIES OF CERAMIC PAVERS BASED ON WOODS
It has been found that it is possible to obtain high-strength ceramic paving stones based on forest species by adding 20% glass waste powder. In this case, the amount of moisture in the formation should be close to 10%, which corresponds to the semi-dry pressing technology.
