Meeting of business circles of Kazakhstan and China in Nur-Sultan

In Nur-Sultan, a reception was held for business circles of Kazakhstan and China, organized by the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The diplomatic department introduced this practice for the first time in order to provide the business community of the two countries with a unique platform for free and easy communication. Thus, for many there was another opportunity to find new potential partners and friends.

Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao, speaking to businessmen, recalled that bilateral trade is growing rapidly. If last year it amounted to 11 billion dollars, then this year it is expected to 20 billion dollars.

“Of course, this is far from the limit, but this is a very important signal that our economic cooperation, after many years of hesitation, has already moved into a stable and rapid development. I would call the highlight of our bilateral productive cooperation a cement plant in the Kyzylorda region with a capacity of 1 million. tons of cement per year. According to the president, this plant is an important contribution to the republic’s industry. As it filled the production gap, turning the republic from an importer to an exporter of high-quality cement, "said China's Ambassador to Kazakhstan XIAO.

He also cited the example of the Asian factory for the production of large-diameter steel welded pipes with a capacity of 100 thousand tons per year, located in Almaty; Kazakh-Chinese glass factory, which will be launched next year in the Kzyl-Orda region (its capacity will be 200 thousand tons per year). All of them are implemented in the framework of 55 industrial investment projects and are aimed at increasing the level of import substitution and industrialization of the country.

Kazakh diplomats, officials and entrepreneurs also talk about successes in the past year in bilateral cooperation. So, the Chamber of Commerce was able to bring more than 60 producers to various trading floors in Xi'an, Urumqi, Shanghai. Participation in the largest import Shanghai exhibition in November of this year made it possible to conclude contracts for the export of Kazakhstani products: meat, pasta, confectionery, etc., worth over 160 million dollars. The Chamber of Commerce is confident that in the near future Kazakhstan can make good money on those goods that Chinese consumers have already liked.

"If we are talking about meat and pasta, the demand is so great that we need to extensively increase production within the Republic of Kazakhstan. That is, our meat producers understand how much demand there is and are already starting to invest. China, seeing consumption within itself, is also actively coming in and participates in joint ventures for the cultivation and subsequent sale of meat breed cows, "said Ayan ERENOV, Chairman of the Board of the Kazakhstan Foreign Trade Chamber.

In turn, flour mills are full of optimism. They say that interest from China provides an opportunity for the development of the industry. Now, on average, Kazakhstan collects 14 million tons of wheat per year. Of these, only 40% is processed at flour mills. And their industrial potential is sufficient to process the entire crop, and if necessary, 20-25 million tons, the director of the flour mill from Karaganda, Dos-Mukasan TAUKEBAEV, is sure.

“I think that in the near future all our flour milling companies will work. And the day will come when we will not send it for export as raw materials, but will send it in processed form. In the message of our First President, Elbasy N. Nazarbayev the task was set "2.5 times increase the export of processed products. We will probably come to this soon," said Dos-Mukasan TAUKEBAYEV.

The entrepreneur draws such optimistic conclusions from his own experience. His company has been exporting flour for 4 years. He says that in China it is in demand, although at a price higher than the local one. And all because of environmental friendliness and high baking properties. If earlier it was delivered to the border regions, in the city of Urumqi, then from this year deliveries began to the city of Tanjin, the provinces of Henan and Shandong. And this is not going to stop.

“A small restaurant has recently opened in Shandong. There is a special stand at the entrance where they sell our Kazakhstan flour, Kazakhstan oil and other products. And besides this, various flour products are baked in the store itself. If you used to bake rice flour, today they replaced it with our wheat. Our partner says that there is no end to customers and the number of products we supply is increasing and increasing, "shared the impressions of the cooperation of flour mills from Karaganda.

Chinese companies also spoke of mutual interest at the reception. The oil and gas giant CNPC jointly manages the projects “SNPS Aktobemunaigas”, “PetroKazakhstan”, JSC “Mangystaumunaigas”, Kashagan and others. For 22 years of work in Kazakhstan, according to the company, it paid more than 49 billion US dollars in taxes and fees, allocated 370 million US dollars to maintain the facilities in working condition, provided work for more than 30 thousand people. In 2016, she sponsored the construction of the State Academy of Choreography in the city of Nur-Sultan. In 2017, it allocated funds for the construction of the Aktobe Art Center. And in this - to several social facilities, such as the Park of the First President in the city of Aktau. And as a result, she won the Presidential Prize "for the best social contribution" in a number of Kazakhstani projects in which she has a share.

At the reception, we managed to talk with a representative of a company that has been supplying equipment and solutions for mobile radio communications in Kazakhstan for 13 years.

“We have the main customers here - law enforcement agencies, oil and gas and commercial. Our partners are satisfied with our equipment and the solution we offer. Honestly, the most important thing for the city is safety. And our solution helps ensure it,” the director told us Representative offices of the Chinese company Ivan VAN.

At the meeting, they also talked about the need to actively develop electronic commerce, cooperation in finance, transport and logistics. They urged Kazakh businessmen not to be shy to enter the capacious Chinese market. Many are confident that all this will only help bring cooperation to a higher level and help countries become more successful and prosperous.
