An interactive museum of faceted glass opened in the Vladimir region

Many exhibits were donated by Gusev residents.

Museum of faceted glass opened in Gus-Khrustalny. The exposition is interactive, said State Duma deputy Igor Igoshin.

The museum appeared on the territory of the historical and art museum. The exposition presents a collection of faceted glasses from different times. The dishes were presented by the Gusevites.

The first Soviet faceted glass was produced at the glass factory in Gus-Khrustalny on September 11, 1943. It is different from the usual. A smooth ring is located on top of the dishes around the circumference, and the glass also expands upwards. The very first glass had 16 faces. And at the bottom of the glass was the price - 7 or 14 kopecks.

- Although, today the glass is a bit "modernized", it is part of the life of some lovers of antiquity. By the way, its capacity is exactly 250 milliliters,” says Igor Igoshin.

The interactive museum was built for 2 million rubles. Its creation was discussed back in 2021. However, it was only possible to implement the project at the end of 2022.
