There are 60 collection points for this kind of recyclables in the region.
New Year holidays are not only a colorful and bright time, but also a huge amount of tinsel, garlands, Christmas decorations that need to be disposed of somehow. Just throwing them in the trash if there are already too many toys is not worth it. The Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities of the Moscow Region spoke about the rules for handling such garbage.
To collect holiday decorations, gift paper and other New Year's decor, which for some reason already needs to be thrown away, special Megabak collection points operate in the Moscow Region. There are 60 of them in total, in 56 urban districts of the region.
You can donate to Megabucks not only New Year's decorations, but also all garbage that requires special handling and disposal: batteries, appliances, plastic, aluminum, lamps, and so on. For the convenience of garbage collection, in 2023 it is planned to install Megabuckets in all 136 parks of the Moscow region.
According to Anton Velikhovskiy, the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Moscow Region, during the New Year holidays, the volume of garbage in the region grows by 20%, precisely because of the discarded Christmas trees, decorations, paper, packaging and other things. Therefore, Megabucks are actively developed in the Moscow region, because all the garbage collected through them is sent for recycling and is reused in production.
Also, the residents of the region were listed the basic rules that must be observed before throwing away the New Year's decor: all decorations must be removed from the Christmas trees, broken toys should be placed in a glass container, batteries must first be removed from the garlands, and the adhesive part must be removed from the envelopes.
