Vladimir Region received delegates from Africa and the Middle East

Fifty foreign participants, business representatives and chambers of commerce and industry from 5 countries - Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

This is the first time the Vladimir region has received such a representative eastern delegation. The purpose of the meeting is to create new partnerships between Vladimir manufacturers and businesses in the Middle East and North Africa.

Ildar Galeev, Head of the International Department of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia:

- Similar events - like the International Day of the Vladimir Region - they are recognized to expand the potential for interaction of trade cooperation and recognition of Vladimir goods in foreign markets.

Russia has a long history of good neighborly relations with the countries of Africa and the Middle East. Foreign policy events "strengthened the vector".

The International Day of the Vladimir Region, organized by the Government of the region and the Regional Export Support Center, is an opportunity to better acquaint foreign delegates with the potential of the 33rd region.

- We came here with a delegation of Egyptian businessmen who want to invest in Russia, especially in the development of the food industry. Together to create goods that will be sold in different countries of the world, including in African countries.

A number of Middle Eastern companies have extensive experience of cooperation with Vladimir entrepreneurs. Many want to expand partnerships.

Our area is strong in the agricultural, food, pharmaceutical and chemical Industries. These are more than 4 thousand enterprises, one third of which are large and medium-sized businesses. Vladimir products are recognizable, including on the world market.

Andrey Naumov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Vladimir Region:

- Enterprises of the Vladimir region have a wide range of strong competencies in all sectors of the processed industry. Our main exports are food products and agricultural raw materials. 21% of the export of the Vladimir region is glass and glass products, while in the first quarter of this year, the export of these products increased by almost 40%.

East is a delicate matter. The department of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia helps to build relationships correctly, taking into account cultural characteristics.

Najibullo Gafforzoda, head of the direction for the development of international projects in the Middle East and Africa, Russian Export Center JSC:

- Globally, perhaps we are different. But values - family values, religious values - all of this is very similar with us. In this regard, Russia is a more understandable partner for them than the countries of the West.

During the exchange of business contacts, about 90 meetings and negotiations took place on issues of export-import operations and future mutual investments. This interaction opens new doors.

Production on the territory of partner countries and an impressive increase in the share of Russian exports to Africa and the Middle East are already a reality.
