A plant will be built in Tyumen to produce material that is in short supply in Russia

The current volume of production is not enough to meet the needs of the country.

In Tyumen, a plant will be built to produce glass roving - fiberglass strands that are used in various areas of the industrial sector. The project will be implemented by Armkrep. The new plant will be the third plant in the country. The volume of investments in the project will amount to 800 million rubles and will create about 100 jobs.

Mikhail Legonky, Deputy Director for Development at Armkrep, said that the current production volume is not enough to cover Russia's need for this material. According to him, the emergence of a new plant will allow abandoning Chinese manufacturers in favor of domestic ones.

“Currently, the company is drawing up documents to raise funds from the federal industrial development fund. We plan to launch the plant within two years as part of import substitution. The regional investment agency is ready to support and accompany our project. In Russia, at the moment, only two factories produce glass roving, and this volume does not cover the needs of the domestic market - 80 percent are imported from China. With the launch of the Tyumen plant, the ratio will change in favor of domestic producers,” Mikhail Legonky commented to the Tyumenskaya Liniya publication.

He also noted that fiberglass is used in the construction industry, oil and gas production, housing and communal enterprises, aircraft construction, shipbuilding and the beauty industry.

Earlier, RBC Tyumen reported on the construction of a lifelong shelter for homeless animals in the city. The site was allocated earlier, and now the city administration has prepared a draft plan for the territory in the area of Chekistov - Topolinaya streets.
