Glass production is being modernized in Tver

On December 26, 2024, Governor Igor Rudenya visited the enterprise of JSC Glanit. The head of the region got acquainted with the progress of the investment project to expand and modernize glass production in Tver.

Together with the management of the company, Igor Rudenya inspected the warehouse, production workshops, and laboratory. At the site of the enterprise, the head of the region held a working meeting with the management of JSC Glanit, dedicated to the activities of the production and the prospects for its development.

- This is an enterprise that produces modern, in-demand products. It is very important that the policy of transparency, interaction with partners who can come and see your production, yields results. We are glad that there is good, stable production dynamics, guaranteed jobs that give confidence in the future, - noted Igor Rudenya.

The enterprise carried out work to repair the furnace, launched a new line for the production of decorated glass containers. One of the most high-tech, automated industry production facilities in Russia has been created, which has allowed to double the volume of production: from 153.24 million units of glass containers in 2018 to 290.5 million units in 2023. The enterprise produces a wide range of products and supplies them to leading domestic manufacturers. About 400 people work here, including unique specialists.

This year, the Glanit company began implementing an investment project to modernize and expand production, which received the status of large-scale and priority. The investment volume is 527 million rubles. Thus, it is planned to modernize the line for the production of jars for baby food, which will meet all modern quality standards. Also in the plans is the modernization of the glass furnace, due to which its productivity will be increased, and equipping the decoration production with a new printing machine.

The government of the Tver region provides support to the Glanit company, including the repair of the access road, the provision of land for the expansion of the plant. According to Igor Rudenya, the region is ready to continue to provide assistance to the enterprise, as well as to take part in events to attract young people to work practice.

In addition, the plant is implementing a project in the Upper Volga region to collect glass containers from organizations and the population and to recycle secondary raw materials. Currently, 13 glass container collection points have been opened for this purpose, and the enterprise annually processes more than 150 tons of broken glass, the press service of the Tver Region government reports.
