In Syktyvkar, polymer-sand products are made from recycled glass containers

A member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Komi, the PVS company began processing glass in July this year.

It is ground to a state of quartz sand, mixed with recycled plastic caps, polyethylene, polypropylene, canisters, bottles and sand, paint is added and a colored composite mass is melted. Then, on a special press, paving slabs of three types in thickness, curbs, cable closure plates "Caution cable!", street hatches with a shell that can withstand a load of one and a half, three and six tons, garden fences of two types are made.

Director of PVS LLC Alexander Neskin showed the guests from the Komi Chamber of Commerce and Industry the enterprise and the process of manufacturing polymer sand products. He noted that the manufactured products can become a good alternative to products that Komi municipal administrations and various enterprises buy in other regions. The cost of production is the same as, for example, in the Volga-Vyatka regions, in addition, enterprises of the republic save on logistics.

"Our goal is to minimize the receipt of polymer sand products from outside the Komi Republic. We can recycle recyclable materials, produce affordable, high-quality and durable products using domestic equipment that are lighter than concrete and metal products. It is not afraid of ice axes, frost-resistant and water-resistant , is not afraid of fire, withstands heavy loads and is durable," says Alexander Neskin

He added that the company does not currently consider the acceptance of glass containers as a commercial component. Today it is a social and environmental project, which is designed to teach Komi residents to separate waste collection. Confirming its name - recycling - the company, in addition to waste paper and plastic, began to receive glass containers from the enterprises of the city, including restaurants and cafes. To receive glass from the population in the yards of apartment buildings in Syktyvkar, special yellow containers for plastic have been installed, where you can throw container glass.

PVS is the representative of the Smart Environment company in the Komi Republic. The company plans to implement a project for the production of park and street furniture from a polymer-sand composite - benches, urns, planters, sandboxes, flower beds. It is planned to use borrowed funds to purchase an additional press and a Russian-made melting plant for the production of boards and molds for benches. Finished benches weigh about 120 kilograms and do not need care. In the meantime, the company has purchased six of these benches from its partner as a gift to the city. They were installed in the Ezhvinsky district of Syktyvkar in a park along Mendeleev Street, over which the company took patronage, and on Bumazhnikov Avenue - here they were installed by a contractor as part of a landscaping project.

Alexander Neskin calls his company a locomotive for promoting separate waste collection in Komi. We started collecting and recycling plastic and waste paper back in 2010. In 2014, we organized the separate collection of waste in containers on the territory of Syktyvkar and launched the separate collection of MSW throughout the republic.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of promoting the interests of the PVS company. Alexander Neskin, by the nature of his activity, is a member of expert groups operating in municipal and republican authorities. The company participates in the regional stages of the "Golden Mercury" competition of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, in various environmental projects throughout the country and can share its experience in the separate collection of MSW with enterprises from other municipalities of the republic.

In the fall, among the budgetary institutions and enterprises of Syktyvkar, the PVS company will hold a campaign to collect container glass, plastic and polymer products. And for several organizations that have collected the largest amount of recyclables, the company will manufacture and install benches made of polymer sand composite as a gift free of charge.
