In Novocherkassk, a container manufacturing company is interested in recycling glass bottles

The activities of the Glanit enterprise and its environmental measures were discussed by the deputies of the Duma of Novocherkassk at a meeting of the profile commission on industry issues.

According to the press service of the parliament of the Cossack capital, Yury Bondarev, the leading environmental engineer, spoke about the initiative of the business entity in the recycling of glass bottles used by residents.

The activity of the industrial facility is related to the production of a wide range of white, green and brown glass containers. Produced glass containers are used as packaging for products of the beer, alcoholic beverage and food industries.

The enterprise is functioning properly, its new management already has projects for material and technical development. The number of workers, due to the change of ownership (recall, in 2021, the Tula JSC "Glanit" acquired the JSC company "Aktis" for 900 million rubles), has not changed. To date, about 800 workers are involved in the creation of products.

The environmental measures of the industrial facility include the systematic handling of production wastes according to the specified limits and the control of wastewater from outlets.

Over the past year, almost 5 million rubles were spent on their implementation. Payment for the negative impact on the environment for the same year amounted to 15 million rubles, this is due to the fact that at that time there were no maximum standards for pollutants.

Now these criteria are already known. To explain the violations imposed on the enterprise by the supervisory authorities, the speaker reported on the payment of fines for increased noise levels. To date, the level of this indicator has been reduced, brought into line with regulatory requirements. The global decision of the enterprise in the near future will be the development of a project to determine the sanitary protection zone.

During the discussion of the information received, the Novocherkassk deputies focused on a possible mass transition to separate waste collection. They asked what needs to be done for this and on what grounds residents and various organizations can freely donate, for example, used glass bottles.

The representative of OP JSC "Glanit" explained that the company can accept household waste of glass origin only within the framework of contracts concluded with public catering.

But before that, their owners need to install specialized containers. It is also possible to accept glass bottles from citizens, on a contractual basis, if there are supporting documents on the composition of these bottles. The regulation of these processes is under revision.

The initiative needs to be put into practice, since the technical component has already been established, other fials of the Tula JSC "Glanit" have such experience.

The deputy corps plans to get acquainted with the activities of the plant for the production of glass containers in more detail when visiting the enterprise this year.
