Glazing of the new building of the Tretyakov Gallery has been completed in Moscow

The construction of a new building of the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow has been completed, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced in his Telegram channel.

“The building turned out to be unique, matching the museum. Inside there are large exhibition spaces, a lighted atrium with a panoramic view of Kadashevskaya embankment. A large-scale project that leaves very strong impressions,” the Deputy Prime Minister said after visiting the building.

It is planned to open to visitors this summer. The new building of the Tretyakov Gallery will house display and exhibition spaces, restoration workshops for paintings, graphics, sculptures, as well as a scientific photo archive.

As the head of the “Unified Customer in the Construction Industry” Karen Oganesyan reported, the new building of the museum space will be connected to the historical building of the Tretyakov Gallery with a 57-meter glass passage. The facade of the building is decorated with reproductions of paintings by Ivan Shishkin, Alexey Savrasov, Ivan Kramskoy, Mikhail Vrubel and other famous Russian artists. In total, 34 works of painting are placed on the façade of the building, framed by wide frames of white stone.
