Industrial production up 10 percent in Mordovia

In the first eight months of 2019, the volume of industrial production in Mordovia amounted to 110 percent compared to last year. The enterprises of the region sold products worth 120 billion rubles, which is 16 percent more than a year ago.

These figures were named by the head of the Republic of Moldova, Vladimir Volkov, speaking at a gala event dedicated to the professional holiday of employees of the engineering industry, reports Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

“The leaders in the growth among machine builders are the Ruzkhimmash plant, which added more than 55 percent in terms of production and shipment to last year's figures. In general, since the beginning of the year, the sale of railway products and equipment in Mordovia has increased one and a half times and amounted to almost 22 billion rubles, ”the leader of the region explained.

The positive dynamics determined a significant growth in related industries, in particular, in metallurgy. The largest increase in shipment volumes — over 30 percent — was achieved by VKM-Steel, which works in conjunction with the car builders.

“In total, metallurgical products were sold at 5.5 billion rubles, or a quarter more than last year. At the same time, more than twofold growth in product shipment this year was achieved by enterprises that produce vehicles. High results were achieved, including due to the launch of new industries. This year, RM Rail holding resumed work on the Saransk site, where large-scale production of aluminum wagons was opened. 370 have already been created there, and in total it is planned to create 600 new jobs, ”Volkov emphasized.

New production facilities were organized at the Leader-Compound, Saranskkabel-Optika, and Biokhimik enterprises, the production capacity of the fiber-optic plant doubled, and the technical re-equipment of the Electric Rectifier is nearing completion. Thanks to the involvement of new residents in TOSED, “Ruzayevka” resumed operation of the glass factory. An agreement was reached with Rusnano on the opening of a new production in the field of solar energy on the territory of the republican technopark.
