In Minsk, talked about problems with the export of cement and glass

On November 26, Prime Minister Sergei Rumas was forced to admit a tangled chain of unleashed contradictions in the cement and glass industry in Belarus at a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers.

On the one hand, according to information from sources in the Cabinet, "the issues of meeting the conditions for providing state support by organizations and their compliance with the approved debt repayment schedules are monitored and reviewed monthly by the government."

At the same time, the head of government states that there has been a drop in the export of glass and cement, "production capacities are not fully loaded, unreasonable intermediary schemes are used in the sale of products, as well as in the procurement of raw materials."

It is the combination of these problems, analysts emphasize, that has become the reason for discussion in the government of issues related to the fulfillment of Lukashenko’s instructions to increase the efficiency of work in the industry. To stabilize the work of cement plants and Gomelsteklo OJSC, the president made decisions on restructuring the debt of these organizations to republican organizations, gas supply organizations and banks.

In addition, the Committee for State Control of the Republic of Belarus drew attention to problems in cement industry organizations. He even proposed to prosecute the guilty officials of ministries, executive committees and organizations.

According to Rumas, the difficult situation at the Neman glass factory also requires close attention. “The previously created loan burden, as well as debt to the republican budget and for fuel and energy resources, significantly affects the operation of the enterprise,” he said, BelTA informs.
