In the Leningrad region, 168 tons of glass and 48 tons of plastic will be sent for processing

In the 47th region, the results of six months of separate waste collection are being summed up.

Waste can be conveniently sorted by 300 thousand residents of eight districts of the Leningrad Region: Volosovsky, Vsevolozhsky, Kingiseppsky, Lomonosovsky, Luga, Priozersky, Slantsevsky, Tikhvinsky - reminds the press service of the regional administration. For six months, they all collected 168 tons of glass and 47.8 tons of plastic. This garbage will now go not to the landfill, as it could, but for recycling.

As noted in the regional administration, now there are 198 adjacent container sites in the region, where you can leave plastic and glass. More than 239 are planned to be equipped in the Vsevolozhsk region by July 1. The centralized regional project is being implemented in stages, its expansion is planned for the entire region.

Extending separate collection to all districts will increase the proportion of waste to be sorted and proportionally reduce the amount of waste that needs to be taken to landfills.
