In Gus-Khrustalny plan to erect a monument to faceted glass

In the city of Gus-Khrustalny, Vladimir Region, they are going to erect a monument to faceted glass. Yes, yes, to the very one from whom they used to drink tea in train cars, with a saucer and in a cup holder. This unusual project can become a participant in the All-Russian contest of new attractions "Cultural Trail", which was extended until May 16.

Why will the faceted glass monument appear in Gus-Khrustalny?

It is Gus-Khrustalny who is considered the unofficial homeland of this piece of tableware, which everyone remembered in Soviet times. A huge number of faceted glasses were produced at numerous glass factories in the city, which were later supplied to all corners of the Soviet Union.

What will the new monument look like?

The author of the idea plans to erect a monument in the form of a fountain - water should drain from the glass, which will be in the cup holder and stand on the saucer. However, there is a flip side to this initiative - in the future, the space next to the monument may become a favorite place for celebrating Faceted Glass Day (and not only September 11).
