Gus-Khrustalny plans to start production of flexible glass

On Saturday, November 25, the Governor of the Vladimir Region, Alexander Avdeev, together with his colleagues, arrived on a working visit to the People's Republic of China. Alexander Avdeev visited the city of Bengbu, where a large scientific and laboratory cluster of the glass industry is located.

During the trip, officials plan to get acquainted with advanced Chinese glass production and establish contacts that are necessary to attract new investments into the region and develop a glass industry cluster in the Gus-Khrustalny district.

- We pay special attention to this industry. Gus-Khrustalny, the city and the region, is a reference point on the map of our country. We are discussing with Chinese partners the possibilities of cooperation in the technologies and competence that we need to take a step forward and produce completely new products, the governor noted.

We are talking about the possibility of cooperation with China in the creation of modern products from ultra-thin glass. Such flexible glass, only 0.03 millimeters thick, can even be rolled into a tube. This glass is used in electronic technology, in the creation of smartphones and displays.
