More than 2,500 jobs will be created in Dagestan

Minister of Industry and Trade of Dagestan Nizam Khalilov spoke about the implementation of two “breakthrough” projects supervised by his department: “Development of the glass industrial cluster” and “City of shoemakers.” Thanks to them, 2,587 new jobs will be created in the republic.

“The City of Shoemakers” has already brought 497 new jobs and 700 million rubles of investment to Dagestan. By 2030, the project plans to create 1,600 jobs and attract 6.9 billion rubles of investment.

“Development of the glass industrial cluster” includes 5 subprojects worth 9.4 billion rubles, aimed at creating 987 jobs.

As part of the project, 20 agreements have already been signed, 14 of which are with industrial enterprises. In 2022, the glass cluster of Dagestan received official recognition, being included in the register of industrial clusters of the Russian Federation.

At the beginning of 2024, a special investment contract (SPIC) was signed for the production of glass containers in Dagestan. The production modernization project will double its capacity to 160 tons of glass melt per day (140 million glass containers per year).

The implementation of this project will satisfy the growing demand for glass containers and increase export supplies from Dagestan.
