Production of 12-meter glass was launched in Chelyabinsk

Previously, such double-glazed windows were imported only from abroad.

The Chelyabinsk plant "Modern Glass" has launched the assembly of double-glazed windows up to 12 meters in length. Such glasses have not been produced in Russia before. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Industry, New Technologies and Natural Resources of the region.

The new technology will provide the country with double-glazed windows twice as large as they currently produce. It is planned that the plant will produce at least 3.8 thousand tons of glass per year.

A loan of 1.6 billion rubles has already been received for the implementation of the new line. Installation of new equipment will begin this year.

“Using the funds received under the FRP program “Priority Projects”, we will install a complex of production equipment for the manufacture of architectural glass products up to 12 m long - monoliths, laminates and double-glazed windows. They are based on tempered glass, which is 5–7 times stronger than ordinary glass,” says Dmitry Dyshakov, Executive Director of Modern Glass.

Among other things, the production will create more than 50 new jobs at the enterprise.
